Shamshera Review: The Story

The story of Shamshera is based on a fictional town named Kaza. The people of this city are the victims of the crimes of Shuddh Singh a brutal commander imprisons. On the other hand, Shamshera is a dreaded dacoit, who wants to free people from these crimes. This story is not the story of a dacoit named Shamshera, but the story of a dacoit tribe fighting for their rights and freedom from the British in the 1800s. The British committed crimes against the tribe and the people suffer their tyranny. Meanwhile, Shamshera’s entry takes place. Ranveer Kapoor has a double role in the film. One character’s name is Shamshera while the other character’s name is Khamanan. He does not enslave the British and forms a gang that messes with the British. Khamran makes fake Shamshera taste good to the British. After this, the British engage the dreaded and dreaded Inspector Shuddh Singh (Sanjay Dutt) to control him. Shamshera and Shuddh Singh have such a confrontation that goosebumps stand. To know who won the battle between the two, one must watch the film.

Many years before independence, people of the Khmera caste used to walk with their chests tight. He belonged to a small caste, so his struggles were there, but unity was such that no one could deter him. But then came the rule of the Mughals and the people of the Khmera caste had to leave their homes again and again. Here also their struggle did not end and the British captured India. Khmera’s bad days began as soon as he arrived. The chieftain of Khamera was Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor). These people used to commit dacoity, used to say – dacoit by karma, free from religion. This was the basic mantra of their caste. Now they remained dacoits but the British took away their freedom. He was deceived and imprisoned. There is a fort in Kaza, where all these Khameras were kept. How they came, why they came, that part of the story which cannot be told here.

Know this much, Shuddh Singh (Sanjay Dutt) did the work of imprisoning Shamshera and her caste people. You can rightly call him the jailer of the British era. Rather they were domesticated, the blood was Hindustani, but the pocket was filling the British rule. This Shuddh Singh was used to describe the Khmeras as a low caste. He used to treat them as if they were animals, not humans. On the one hand, his atrocities were increasing and on the other hand, the freedom of the Khmer people was constantly being challenged. This is the basic story….and there is much more that will be known only after watching the film on the big screen.

This film also gets full numbers in the acting department. What an amazing job Ranbir Kapoor has done. Meaning, that before the release of the film, his look surprised everyone. After watching the film, his acting is also making him feel the same way. Looks like Ranbir is completely immersed in the character of Shamshera. He has a double role anyway, in such a situation, the second character has also been given full fun. In every scene, he has proved himself again on this screen. Sanjay Dutt, who became a villain in the film, has also appeared in tremendous form.

Makers have given a different style to his character, and have molded it differently. Its effect is visible, there is no scene where it seems that Ranbir overshadows Sanjay or Sanjay has overtaken Ranbir. Both the superstars have fully supported each other and due to that, the audience has been double entertained. Saurabh Shukla has also got a chance to play a great character. He is in the role of Dhoot Singh in the film. His character will be remembered because of his dialogues. Sometimes poetic style, sometimes heavy voice, meaning more than half the drama, then his dialogues have created. Vaani Kapoor is also playing an important role in the film. In the initial scenes, his character seemed weak, but after the second half, the makers cleverly gave meaning to his character. Ronit Roy also has a small role in the film. Whatever screen time he got, he took advantage of it.

Shamshera

Seeing the trailer of Shamshera, it was felt that there is going to be a lot of action in it. An overdose of it will be seen. But it is not so at all. You are not going to see headless action anywhere in this film. It is a matter of happiness that like South, there are not many people flying in the air here. Big solid action has been kept which is fun to see. There is a scene where Bunny (Ranbir’s double role character) and an English officer fight, the way it has been filmed, action as well as paisa vasool dialogues. Many great visuals have also been seen in the film. All the credit for this goes to Ane Goswami who has taken charge of the cinematography.

Let’s talk about direction Karan Malhotra’s work will be called amazing. The scale of which this film was, as much as the budget was, everything depended on the execution itself. After watching the film, it can be said that Karan will have to give an A grade in this matter. The length of the film is quite long, but from the beginning to the end, there was a connection from the beginning to the end. Everything was tied up in such a way that you just kept watching and the film was over. There are also many songs in Shamshera. There is a lot in the first half and in the second half. Let’s say that this is just a single drawback. Except for the title track and background score, you will not remember any song after you step out of the theatre.

There is a scene of Ranbir Kapoor in the film in which Ranbir is seen doing an action. A scene for which Karan had to build a 400-foot train from the 1800s. It took almost a month to build this train with all its glory. The period drama Shamshera is one of those films in Hindi cinema that have a very high budget. Shamshera, the story of a dacoit, is made with a budget of Rs 150 crore. The concept may be old but the story is brand new and fresh.

Shamshera Review: The Last Words

In the film, you will get a full package of all three romance, comedy and action. In the rough and rustic look of the dacoit, Ranveer Kapoor has looked tremendous, Sanjay Dutt played a negative role in the film, and he can be considered a perfect villain in the role of Shuddh Singh. The performance of Sanjay Dutt as Shuddh Singh and Ranveer Kapoor as Shamshera is excellent. At the same time, in the role of a dancer, the glamorous girl Vaani Kapoor’s performance in the film is tremendous. Her onscreen chemistry with Ranbir is captivating. But…But…But, this is the comeback of Bollywood. Not saying from the point of view of the critics, from the point of view of the viewer, I am telling you. Seeing the recent film South, there was applause, which will give Ranbir’s Shamshera a chance to serve.
