The Patient: Steve Carell Face To Face With A Serial Killer In The Series Trailer
Hulu has streamed the official trailer for The Patient, a limited series about a serial killer who takes a therapist hostage to help him curb his murderous urges. Steve Carell plays Alexander Strauss, the therapist captured by Domhnall Gleeson‘s Sam Fortner. The series will debut on the digital platform on August 30th.
The Patient also stars Linda Emond, Laura Niemi, Andrew Leeds, Alex Rich and David Alan Grier. Additionally, The Americans creator Joel Weisberg teams up with a writer/producer from that series, Joel Fields, as co-showrunner. Veteran director Chris Long directed the first two episodes of the series.
The Patient: Trailer
FX on Hulu is offering The Patient the streaming distribution treatment when it debuts in late August (we may soon arrive on Disney+ as Hulu’s products follow this strategy in another countries). The first three episodes of the series will be released on August 30, 2022, with a new episode every Tuesday until the series concludes. Will Steve Carell be able to escape the clutches of Domnhall Gleeson in this new limited series? Or will their relationship involve them in unexpected ways? Find out when the series debuts on Hulu on August 30th.
Carell is fresh from the cancellation of Space Force, which came after just two seasons by Netflix. In fact, for an expensive product like this, the streaming giant needed to achieve tremendous success. With Steve Carrell’s incredible pay and insane production costs, the platform has repeatedly tried to curb the cost of the show between the two seasons, but with little success, the lukewarm audience response, coupled with this problem, led to natural closure.
