Major Review: Three big films have been released on June 3, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Vikram’ and ‘Major’. In today’s review, we will talk about ‘Major’. Martyred Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an officer of NSG’s 51 Special Action Group was martyred in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. We have heard stories of his passion for the terrorist attack. Whose hairs do not stand on end when they hear his saying ‘Don’t Come Up, I’ll Handle Them’. The film ‘Major’ is inspired by martyr Major Unnikrishnan and his life. The makers will now talk about how much justice has been done to their story.
Well, one of the most hyped film Major from Telugu cinema finally arrived at the box office. The trailer was praised by everyone and received a good response from all over India. Adivi Sesh is a well-known name from Telugu cinema but new in Bollywood. Something like Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. People know all the stories of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Many web series, films, and documentaries have been made on this incident, but Sandeep Unnikrishnan was the first commando of the National Security Guard (NSG) who was martyred in the attack on the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai.
Major Review: The Story
The film begins with the incident that made us know the name of Major Sandeep for the first time. 26/11 terror attack. But it does not just shrink around that attack. The film seems eager to know what his life was like before that, how he was a human being. However, Creative Liberty has been used for this. The film binds Major Sandeep’s life with one word, which is reflected in his every action. That word is passion. The kid who watched the Navy Day Parade with his parents was obsessed. Passion to see oneself in a navy uniform, passion to improve the lives of others. This passion becomes his driving force.
One thing is often said for revolutionary and open-minded people. In other words, for those who have passion, break and fall in love. The same is true of the ‘Major’ story. Liked a girl, and loved her immensely. He made that love his strength. In the film, both his romance and his life with the defense force go hand in hand. By doing so, the makers wanted to know the soft-hearted man inside the NSG officer’s uniform. They also succeed in this endeavor.
The Indian Army is a sentiment that our films and their heroes often carry around in their arms. You will see the same in ‘Major’. But it does not want to fly just in the name of the army. The film wants to know the meaning of the word military. Why a soldier is different from a common man. How does he become different, where does he get the courage to push himself for others, the film seems to explore these aspects?
Major Review And Analysis
The films made with the Defense Forces in the background show a myth that things go over there. Major is no exception in that case. The film simply avoids unnecessary chest-thumping. As I said before, Creative Liberty has been taken to add drama to the film. These creative liberties benefit as well as harm the film. The first half of the film draws your attention. But this momentum falters a bit in the second half. This is because some things become typical in the affair of adding drama. Looking at them, it seems that they have seen it in movies before. This is a big reason why ‘Major’ has elements to become a mass entertainer. Yet it does not make the list of best biopics.
As well as waking up the adrenaline rush, Major also wants to make an emotional appeal to you. When it comes to the acting of actors. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan plays Adivi Sesh in action scenes. Where they had to deliver heavy dialogues. But looking at them in emotional scenes, it seems that the expressions are not coming on their face completely. The highlight of the film for me on the acting front was Revati, who played the role of Major Sandeep’s mother. There is a scene where she gets bad news, and she breaks down unconscious. Screams, screams, but we don’t hear anything. Director Shashi Kiran did not make any sound in this scene, which does not lighten his impact.
Shashi Kiran had told that the idea of making this film came to Adivi. After which he met Major Sandeep’s parents and learned the whole story from them. Shashi explains that he has tried to put the essence of whatever he found out in those hours in his film. In which he has even managed to a point. ‘Major’ fills you with excitement and gets emotional at certain moments. Only the second half of the film emerges as his weakness. Despite this, ‘Major’ succeeds in conveying the message to you. This is not the best movie made on Fauji, but also not a movie that completely rejects it.
Major Review: The Last Words
Major is not just a film it is an emotion and tribute where some unknown warriors are not remembered by people. Major is not a story of Mumbai terror attack it gives a new perspective to a story of the Mumbai terror attack that we don’t know much about. The film is well made and it’s your choice what is your purpose for watching the film for entertainment or about an unheard hero. There’s an emotion feel it, and if you love cinema, then it is your responsibility to watch good films and promote them, then fulfill them and definitely watch Major.
