Dumbledore’s plan to hide the real Qilin by creating five copies of Newt’s suitcase bears fruit. Grindelwald managed to deceive everyone by making himself crowned the supreme head of the wizarding world and hurling a Crusader curse against Jacob, accused of having made an attempt on his life.

The impression is that, even with the deal broken, Grindelwald won’t try to get Dumbledore out of the way anytime soon. Credence, dying, makes his last wish come true. Aberforth, revealed to be his father, hugs him and helps him down the stairs. He will finally be able to go home for what little he has left. After Grindelwald’s escape, Auror leader Theseus asks Dumbledore:

promise me you’ll seriously look for it and stop it.

After so many ups and downs, Queenie and Jacob can finally get married. For the occasion, Newt meets Tina again and a timid glimmer of mutual interest seems to reopen between the two.

Newt sees Dumbledore on the bench across the street from Jacob’s bakery (where wedding preparations are underway), undecided whether to enter or not. The magi zoologist now understands Dumbledore’s character and knows that his thoughts are now for Gellert and that he will probably not attend the wedding. Newt reassures him of his loyalty to the cause, and Dumbledore tells him that if the opportunity arises, he will use him again in the fight against Grindelwald. The film ends with Dumbledore walking alone, in the snow, pensive and melancholy. Above all alone, as predicted by Gellert.
