Breaking Bad: Gus Fring Spin-Off of His Origins

Giancarlo Esposito commented revealing what he thinks of Fring’s past:

I have always wanted and felt within me that there is space to tell about the rise of Gus. I feel it would be interesting to know where he comes from. I think he comes from a very wealthy family, he has had the opportunity to run for political office for the government of another country. He had that attitude, that charisma, that stature and all of this changed him because he wanted to be an independent man. There is something fascinating to me about all of this.

Having ascertained the enormous success of Better Call Saul, most likely Gilligan is thinking of a new product to make. Well, Gus Fring is much loved by the public and Giancarlo Esposito – also thanks to his participation in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian – is very popular.

A very important episode for Fring in Breaking Bad is the eighth episode of the fourth season. Well in this episode we see his business and life partner Max, who is killed in cold blood by Hector Salamanca. So Fring had a love life that was abruptly cut off.

Another clue offered by Fring’s story is that he comes from Chile and was called the “generalissimo” there. This may have led Giancarlo Esposito to think that his character was a politician.
