Bafta Awards 2022: The Power Of The Dog Is Best Film, Five Awards For Dune
The western Netflix The Power of The Dog takes home the award for best film at the BAFTA Awards 2022, awards of English cinema, which also see Jane Campion elected best director; five awards to Dune, awarded for scenography, special visual effects, photography, sound and original soundtrack.
The in-person ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall, conducted by actress Rebel Wilson, crowned Will Smith as Best Actor of the Year for King Richard, where he plays the father of Venus and Serena Williams. Joanna Scanlan was awarded Best Actress for After Love, while the Best Supporting Actor award went to Troy Kotsur, the first deaf actor to win a BAFTA with the signs of the heart, also awarded for the best non-original screenplay. Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast won the Outstanding British Film Award and Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed Licorice Pizza was honored for Best Original Screenplay.
