Critics Choice Awards 2022: The Power of The Dog Best Picture And Direction, Succession And Ted Lasso Triumph On Tv

The Power of The Dog won Best Picture and Best Director awards at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, while Succession, Ted Lasso, Mare of Easttown and Jean Smart were among the big winners in the TV category.

The Power of the Dog wins the top, best picture and best director awards, including at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards, which include film and television. Belfast won the award for best ensemble in a film. Troy Kotsur continues his streak after winning a SAG Award, a Spirit Award and a BAFTA Award in recent weeks for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Film for Signs of the Heart. The actor, who was in London to attend the BAFTAs, connected on video. With him, Ariana DeBose also reaped another success as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in West Side StoryDeBose, also connecting from London, has also won a SAG Award and a BAFTA Award.

Will Smith won the Best Actor award for King Richard after winning the BAFTA Award earlier in the day and a SAG Award two weeks ago, while Jessica Chastain was named Best Actress in a Picture for The Eyes by Tammy Faye.

Critics Choice Awards 2022

On the television side, Jean Smart triumphs by taking home two trophies for his roles in Hacks and Mare of EasttownSuccession, Ted Lasso and Mare of Easttown also garnered multiple awards including Best Drama Series, Best Comedy Series, and Best Limited Series, respectively. Awards also for Kate winslet, a wonderful performer in Mare of Easttown, and Michael Keaton for the drama series Dopesick.

Issa Rae introduced the arrival of SeeHer Award-winning Halle Berry, while Jimmy Kimmel honored veteran Billy Crystal with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
