The adventures of a young Robert Langdon struggling with puzzles and mysteries to ward off a dangerous worldwide conspiracy will not go on. The Peacock video streaming service has cancelled The Lost Symbol, the series based on the novel of the same name by Dan Brown but structured as a prequel story compared to The Da Vinci Code, after a single season of 10 episodes.

The Lost Symbol Season 2

The Lost Symbol: There Won’t Be A Second Season

Created and produced by Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie, The Lost Symbol told the first adventures of Harvard symbology professor Robert Langdon, one of the most famous characters born from the mind of Dan Brown and already played in the cinema by Tom Hanks. Here, played by Ashley Zukerman (Succession), he was recruited by the CIA to find out the whole truth about an incomprehensible kidnapping, that of his mentor Peter Solomon (Eddie Izzard, Hannibal). Valorie Curry, Sumalee Montano, Rick Gonzalez and Beau Knapp also starred in the series, among others.

Designed for NBC and then redirected to the related video streaming service Peacock, The Lost Symbol could count on a couple of exceptional producers, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard , already behind The Da Vinci Code , and on the advice of Dan Brown himself. . NBC had launched the series in a big way last September by airing the first episode also in the clear, as well as streaming on Peacock, and the good (although not excellent) reception of the public gave hope for a renewal. Evidently, however, the numbers did not live up to expectations.
