Hawkeye: Marvel Studios Fixed The Avengers Tower Error After Fan Complaints

Hawkeye television series entertained Marvel fans with 6 episodes, which ran for 5 weeks from November 24 to December 22, 2021. The Hawkeye and Kate Bishop show was therefore the last – in terms of time from Marvel Studios available on the Disney+ streaming service, while the next one will be Moon Knight from 30 March 2022 with an “interlude” dedicated to animation and more precisely to the series in 10 episodes entitled Hit-Monkey.

Well after the airing, Hawkeye was slightly modified by Marvel Studios, which has accepted the report of the fans on a rather gross error. The error is to be found in the flashback, shown after just 4 minutes and 44 seconds from the start, of the first episode entitled “Never meet your heroes”. In this scene, fans are catapulted into 2012 or the fateful Battle of New York, where the most powerful heroes on Earth measured themselves for the first time against an alien threat or the Chitauri sent by Thanos. The reference film is obviously Joss Whedon’s The Avengers and the offending scene concerns the Avengers Tower and more precisely the timing with which the letters forming the word “STARK” on the tower are broken.

In the first version of the Hawkeye episode, the young Kate Bishop observes the Avengers tower from her apartment and from her perspective, the letters “S”, “T”, “A” and K can still be seen attached to the tower. This happens moments before Hawkeye threw himself out of the skyscraper with one of his arrows/grappling hooks.

In The Avengers, however, when Hawkeye makes his move by throwing himself off the skyscrapers with his arrow grappling hook, the “K” is not there since it was broken much (much) before! Even before even the letter “R” was completely removed . This in the frame of the first version of the first episode of Hawkeye is completely missing, but in The Avengers it breaks first in half and then falls completely. In the frame of The Avengers, which can be seen below, when Hawkeye has yet to climb the skyscraper (from which he will throw himself) the “K” has already fallen and the “R” is only half intact.

As for the letter “T” (present in the error and absent in the correction), this was dropped from the Avengers Tower by the explosion of an arrow from Hawkeye launched at Loki just before Clint Barton jumped from the skyscraper. with the arrow / grapple. So, with Loki not present in Hawkeye’s flashback, the “T” was not supposed to be present.

So the mistake on the part of Marvel Studios is obvious. Fortunately, the production company headed by Kevin Feige has accepted the reports of the attentive fans and replaced the scene of Hawkeye that contained the error. Now, as you can see in the frame below extracted from the new version, we see part of the “R”, while the letters “T” and “K” are rightly absent.
