In ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, John Abraham plays the role of two twin brothers Satya and Jai as well as their farmer father. The special thing is that the director has handled all the three roles brilliantly and there is no confusion about these characters in the film. There are many similarities between ‘Satyameva Jayate’ which came in 2018 and ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ of 2021. Both the films fight against corruption and atrocities, while John Abraham’s rock-like body and an item song by Nora Fatehi.

Satyameva Jayate 2 Review: The Story

The film Satyameva Jayate 2 begins with an assembly where an important bill is introduced without the presence of the Leader of the House. Voting takes place without any debate. After the debate, the Home Minister, who introduced the Bill, gets to speak for two minutes later. Failing to get the law made, the Home Minister, in spite of this, takes a pledge to eradicate corruption on his own in dialogues like poetry. The murderers start getting murdered. And the government has to call that police officer whose modus operandi is completely different from the common policemen. He is also the younger brother of the Home Minister.

The story progresses in a familiar way. It is learned that both the fathers were killed 25 years ago during a long fight over the Lokpal Bill. His life-size statue is now erected in front of the assembly. The film uses every formula of Manmohan Desai’s films. Here is a helpless mother. There are children crying and fighting. Instead of just being a cool heroine, Milap has made her a responsible and cultured wife here. The film has references to rape incidents in Delhi, Hyderabad and Unnao. The camera also rotates on the condition of the farmer. And the film ends with a wandering here and there, finally reaching its intended destination of the victory of good over evil.

Satyameva Jayate

Satya Azad (John Abraham) is in the role of an honest leader and Home Minister of the state. Who wants to make the country free from corruption, crime, farmer suicides and atrocities. Threaded in the 80s, in this story, Satya brings an anti-corruption law in the assembly to end corruption, but people from his own party create difficulties in getting this law passed. At the same time, Satya Azad’s wife Vidya Azad (Divya Khosla Kumar) is also an MLA who becomes an obstacle in the path of honesty of the husband. In the opposition is Satya’s wife who is the daughter of the current Chief Minister Chandra Prakash (Harsha Chhaya). Satya Azad’s brother Jai (John Abraham’s second role) is an honest cop who is completely different from his brother Satya. While Satya wants to make a country free of crime in a democratic way, Jai’s way of working is completely different. But there comes a turning point in the film when Jai and Satya are opposite each other. Satya and Jai’s father Dadasaheb Balram Azad (3rd role of John Abraham) has been an honest leader. Truth fights for whose legacy and honesty and makes every effort to eradicate atrocities in the state.

Review and Analysis

The first Satyameva Jayate released in the year 2018 was based on corruption and hunger for power. In such a situation, the same theme became a necessity for ‘Satyameva Jayate 2‘ as well. Writer-director Milap Zaveri and his team have left no stone unturned to preserve and maintain this theme. ‘Satyameva Jayate 2‘ has been weaved like a mass film of the 80s. When you see on screen that John Abraham’s character has become an honest man to punish the guilty of killing innocent people, you are not surprised. You will not be surprised to know that there is no one but the truth to give death penalty to the guilty. Jai has just been brought in to investigate this honestly and get justice.

Milap Zaveri does not hesitate in revealing that his film is a tribute to the films of the 80s. This is fully reflected in the dialogues and screenplay of the film. For example- Satya calls the ACP and says that he will punish the culprits, no matter what happens for it. Or the scene in Jai’s entry or the scene of Dadasaheb Azad (again John Abraham) as a farmer plowing the field with one hand in white clothes and both brothers in saffron and green clothes. There is also a scene in the film just before the climax, where both the brothers fight with each other. Overall, no stone has been left unturned in filling the masala according to the theme of the film.

Satyameva Jayate 2

Milap Zaveri has tried to cover many issues in the film. There is corruption in this. Farmer’s suicide issue. There is an issue of crime against women. There is also talk of Nirbhaya case. Lokpal Bill. It is a matter of religious harmony. Religious tolerance is also mentioned. Moreover, the writer-director has not missed to comment on the role of today’s media and social media. John Abraham’s comfort on screen in this tried-and-tested masala old-school film. Be it the character of twin brothers or their father. Despite the triple role, John Abraham has played it with great ease and calmness. If he shows a little restraint as Satya on screen, he doesn’t shy away from becoming the leader of farmers either as Jai or as Dadasaheb, an ordinary farmer fighting for the Lokpal Bill in the assembly.

‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ is a hardcore action movie. John Abraham does not disappoint as an action hero. Whether it is lifting a motorcycle by hand or tearing the engine of an SUV in two and punching it into the ground. The film has a lot to offer for the action buffs. Although we understand that the film is a tribute to the cinema of the 80s, but still seeing the scene of three John Abrahams stopping a helicopter from flying together on the screen, it definitely seems that it has become a bit more.

Satyameva Jayate 2 Review: Direction

Milap Milan Zaveri takes around two and a half hours to narrate his story. The original chromosome (DNA) of the movie is correct. The length of the film is 18 minutes more and that is also the weak link of this film. The songs in the film are all of the Chaltau type and it seems clear that they have been written from the heart and not the mind. It has been a custom of Hindi cinema songs that they flow in the flow of their sensibilities. Songs with thoughtfully written or collected lines from here and there never become classics. The command of the film’s producer company T-Series is in the hands of the new generation and if this team wants, they can again take the music of Hindi cinema to the heights of the era on which the film ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’ is made. Seeing this film of Milap Milan Zaveri, it can be said that he is Manmohan Desai’s Eklavya. He is still 20 years behind from the time of films releasing with new genres on OTT and also finds satisfaction in creating stories and films in that period itself. They should just keep a couple of people with them in such a way that they can better understand the proceedings of the assembly and the hierarchy of commissionerate and superintendent of police in the police organization. The stars on the shoulders of police officers and Ashok’s lotus demand great care.

Satyameva Jayate 2 Review: Star Performances

Satya, Jai and Balram Azad, these three characters are played by John Abraham. All the three roles are completely different and John has tried to play all three in a good way. While he is fit and fine in the role of a leader, then some flaws are also visible in his character of Jai Policeman. This character starts appearing weak at some places due to acting. From John’s blazing action sequences to emotional scenes, everything was ‘over the top’. Divya Khosla is seen trying to groom her role. At the same time, Gautami Kapoor has done a good job in the role of the farmer’s wife.

Divya Khosla Kumar is looking good. He also has a lead role in this male dominated film. Vidya’s character is such, which is with the right. She prefers to remain silent when she disagrees, but doesn’t mind opposing her husband Satya and minister father (Harsh Chhaya) over issues. Gautami Kapoor plays the role of Dadasaheb’s wife and mother of Satya and Jai in the film and looks fine. Apart from this, Harsh Chhaya, Anoop Soni, Zakir Hussain, Dayashankar Pandey and Sahil Vaid have played their part well.

Satyameva Jayate 2 Review: The Final Words

Undoubtedly the story is filmy but the action and dialogues are here. John’s muscular action will give fun to the fans. He has taken a tremendous entry as all three characters and has acted fiercely. Even his roar blows criminals into the air. Dialogues like ‘there is a farmer hanging on the fan in his own house, but my country is great’, ‘the lion roars in anger, breaks free’, ‘when the storm will hit the rock, corruption will be forgotten’ Will remind Some dialogues will go ahead and will be useful for making memes in social media. Divya Khosla Kumar makes a strong presence in the film. His acting is good. Especially in the second part, she is standing shoulder to shoulder with John. It’s like listening to the music of the film. Camera work is good. All the actors have played their roles well. Nora Fatehi is once again remembered with her dance number Kusu Kusu. This is a return gift for his fans.
