Invasion Episode 3: Ending Explained What Does Mitsuki Find? Why Does Monty Extinguish the Fire?

Invasion is available on Apple TV+! The episode opens with Trev awakening, alone, covered in sand and badly injured. After finding his team’s vehicle, he attempts to call in reinforcements and track his team’s locators, but either way. The only thing he can do is bandage a wound that looks nasty before heading out into the wilderness to seek help.

After traveling on foot for a few hours, Trev is severely dehydrated and collapses to the ground, where he hallucinates his wife walking away before losing consciousness. Some time later, the soldier wakes up to find a man who offers him water. He views the Good Samaritan as potentially hostile, but accepts liquid salvation nonetheless.

Invasion Episode 3 Ending Explained

After days of depression and alcoholism, Mitsuki decides to return to work to find answers. However, when she arrives at JASA, she finds that an independent commission has taken power. She grabs her superior’s ID card and mission records, then locks herself with her colleague Kaito Kawaguchi in the communication room to search for his girlfriend’s latest video recording.

As her boss and the security guard demand that she unlock the door, Mitsuki races against time to find the video before they get inside on their own. When she does, Mitsuki and Kaito realize that something big must have hit the shuttle to cause such damage. They hear the last word spoken by one of the crew members after the collision.

It’s “Wajo”, which means “Japanese castle” in Japanese terminology. Whatever object hit the shuttle it must have looked as large as a castle to the crew. This means that it was destroyed following a collision with an alien ship. Inside this hole, separated from the rest of the world, the little tyrant who sleeps in Monty seems to find the purpose of his life. He puts out the fire that Casper so painstakingly built before to establish his authority over the group. He wants all positive development for the students to come through him and not others, especially not Casper.

The latter seems to have found by chance his ideal place in the world. Moreover, he probably no longer has any desire to leave the hole because this isolation from the rest of the world gives him certain powers that exposure to society will take away from him.
