Dhurandhar Released On OTT: 9-Minute Sequence Cute From Original Runtime!
Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar‘ hits Netflix on Jan 29 at 12 pm. According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, the makers have added some new scenes in the OTT version of the film. Fans are pretty excited about this. But there’s another side to it. Aditya Dhar had divided ‘Dhurandhar‘ into two parts so that he would not have to cut its scenes. In such a situation, it is unlikely that he will show anything new on OTT. Because footage not included in the first part of the movie will be seen in ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
It’s got another screw, though. That is, the Censor Board had made seven changes in this movie. Some violent scenes shown in the film at the beginning of the film were deleted. Also, instructions were given to reduce violent scenes in the second half. Several slurs in the film were also made half-muted. Those slurs won’t be hidden on Netflix. But doubt remains about adding new scenes.
Adding new scenes in general increases film length. But in the ‘Dhurandhar‘ case, exactly the opposite has happened. The film’s theatrical runtime was 3 hours, 34 minutes, 01 seconds. But on Netflix, its length is said to be 3 hours and 25 minutes. That means on Netflix, this movie won’t be one or two; it’ll be 9 minutes shorter straight. Information about which scenes from the film have been removed on OTT has not been revealed. But it is definitely clear that new scenes may not be added to it now. However, something concrete can be said on this only after the OTT release of the film.
Netflix has paid Rs 130 crore for OTT rights to ‘Dhurandhar‘, according to Bollywood Hungama. Includes both parts of the film. This figure looks pretty small for the film’s earnings. On the other hand, the Indian Express has informed that Netflix has signed a deal worth Rs 285 crore with the makers of ‘Dhurandhar’. It’s also claimed to include both films.
‘Dhurandhar‘ has collected Rs. 1301 crore at the worldwide box office. This has become the first Bollywood movie to collect Rs. 1,000 crore by releasing in one language (Hindi). March 19th will release its second part in theaters. News makers release the first teaser of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ on March 31.
