The Fantastic Four: First Steps: The great villain played by Ralph Ineson hangs over the First Marvel Family – Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Richards/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). After looking at Reed and Susan’s son through some merchandising products, a new element finally arrives that feeds the hype for Fantastic 4 – The beginnings, to be released on July 25, 2025, and which will represent the great summer proposal of Marvel Studios. This time, it’s the turn of one of the most anticipated characters in the film: Galactus. And thanks to the official poster, we can finally look closely at it.

The famous world-eater has never had much luck on the big screen. His first appearance dates back to the sequel to Fantastic 4 and Silver Surfer of 2007, where he was represented as a cosmic cloud, completely distorting the iconic design of comics. Perhaps a fascinating idea, but it left many disappointed fans. But now, years later, the MCU is ready to fix it. The new poster shows an Imposing and threatening Galactus, against the background of the protagonists. This time, the design seems to faithfully respect the comic aesthetics: colossal figure, detailed armor, and above all, the unmistakable helmet, the character’s trademark. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be the 37th chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will open the doors to Phase 6. The film marks the official reintroduction of the “first family” of Marvel into the MCU, with a role destined to become central in future chapters. The team will be an integral part of the upcoming events, starting from Avengers: Doomsday (2026) to Secret Wars (2027), where they will meet with other heroes in one of the most ambitious sagas ever told on the screen.
In the comics, Galactus is Galan of the planet Taa and the only survivor of a universe that existed before the Big Bang that gave rise to the cosmos. Introduced in the classic Fantastic Four. 48 of 1966 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby – the first of the Galactus Trilogy which also marked the debut of his space herald, Norrin Radd’s Silver Surfer – Galactus arrived for the first time on Earth while Silver Surfer was looking for a planet with the energy and elemental resources needed to support its master. (The threat was so great that Uatu the Observer, who swore never to interfere with the events he would solemnly observe, intervened in an attempt to hide the home planet of the Fantastic Four from Galactus) After appearing as an anonymous cosmic cloud in the 2007 film The Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer Galactus, more faithful to comics, is also taking its first steps in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I didn’t want to use only motion capture for Galactus. I wanted there to be someone who really embodied the part”, director Matt Shakman previously told Entertainment Weekly about the actor from Game of Thrones and Nosferatu. “So we created a one-piece swimsuit for him and did many photo tests to understand: ‘How do you make sure the dimensions are correct? How do you film Mount Rushmore?”
Set against the vibrant background of a retrofuturistic world inspired by the years ’60, in an alternative timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Fantastic Four: First Steps“ introduces the First Marvel Family as it faces the most difficult challenge ever, says the synopsis. “Forced to balance their role as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer. And as if Galactus‘ plan to devour the entire planet and all its inhabitants was not serious enough, the situation will suddenly become much more personal”.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps of Marvel Studios, with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, Sarah Niles, and John Malkovich, will only be released in theaters on July 25th.
