Daredevil: Born Again Season 2: Confirmed Before Its 1st Season Premiere
Daredevil: Born Again will finally debut on Disney + next month after a series of mishaps, revisions, and production delays, but Marvel Television is wasting very little time returning to the infamous streets of Hell’s Kitchen and kicking off the second season. According to rumors, the production of the second season of the revival series Marvel should start in late February, and the star Charlie Cox recently confirmed that the cameras will start shooting before the first season. Marvel is changing his approach regarding his TV series: Brad Winderbaum of Marvel Television confirmed it and spoke of the desire to follow a scheme more compliant with television standards with seasons coming out one year apart, Daredevil: Born Again included!
Daredevil: Born Again will bring several iconic characters back to life of Marvel, as well as bring new actors into the world of ’MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The Marvel Studios streaming manager, Brad Winderbaum, revealed that Born Again’s second season will arrive next year.
During the same interview during which he talked about the possibility of reviewing The Defenders after Daredevil: Born Again Winderbaum has confirmed that the second season of the show with Charlie Cox will be released a year after the first: “Season 2 will be released next year, after which we hope season 3 arrives and so on until the infinite season” were his words.
“This is the plan”, Winderbaum said when asked if the series will become an annual release during an interview with Screen Rant. “The second season will be released next year, and then, hopefully, the third and infinite seasons later. I think this world is extremely rich and there are many stories to tell on the streets of New York. It is certainly something fundamental for Marvel, which dates back to the first days of publication with Stan, Jack, and Steve and Marvel’s original working group. It’s New York through New York, and being able to shoot here and tell a story about New York made by New Yorkers is critical to the” series.
It is too early to say what the second season’s plot will be, but it is expected that Muse will be involved as a bad applicant. Winderbaum also hinted that his companions of the man without fear could go back to some point.
“I can’t say much, but I’ll tell you it’s so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox. We don’t have the unlimited narrative resources of a comic book. If you can draw it, you can do it. We have to deal with the actors, the time, and the huge scale of production to build a cinematographic universe, especially on television. But I can only say that taking into account all these variables, it is certainly something creatively extremely exciting and that we are exploring with great attention”.
Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil
English actor Charlie Cox has debuted as Matt Murdock in the series Daredevil, broadcast in 2015 on Netflix, and resumed the role for the event Netflix crossover, The Defenders, in 2017. Thanks to his extraordinary interpretation of the hero Marvel, it has become difficult to imagine someone else taking on the role for a reboot, but Cox has been confirmed to interpret the version MCU by Murdock after an apparition surprise in Spider-Man: No Way Home of 2021. After resuming the role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law – and having established a sort of love story with Jennifer Walters – Cox appeared in Echo, fighting against Maya in a dramatic sequence within the first episode of the show Disney + to help set up his plot with Kingpin by Vincent D’Onofrio.
Charlie Cox is also ready to dub an animated version of Daredevil in Your Favorite Neighborhood Spider-Man, giving the actor another appearance like the hero who could precede Daredevil: Born Again. Several changes have been made to this version of Daredevil, which differentiates it from its Netflix origins. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law showed a more comical side of Daredevil and he even saw the hero show off a brand-new red suit and golden, created by the stylist Luke Jacobson instead of Melvin Potter, by Daredevil. Although the question of the canonicality of the television series Marvel compared to ’MCU’ remains unanswered, Daredevil: Born Again is destined to make a change different to the iconic character and his story, also drawing to the Netflix series, hopefully creating an authentic successor of the original series.
Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin
Just like Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio resumed the role he had played in Daredevil during Phase 4 of ’MCU, making his debut in Hawkeye as the man behind the Tracksuit Mafia and adopted uncle of Maya Lopez, aka The role of Kingpin in ’MCU has been expanded with the series soloist Echo, which deepened the story of the protagonist with the villain of Marvel, and the scene Echo post-credits final ended with the hypothesis that Wilson Fisk is running for mayor of New York. During the presentation of the Marvel Studios at Comic-Con in 2022, it was anticipated that in Daredevil: Born Again Cox and D’Onofrio would share the scene, and then the dynamic between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, would be explored in more detail. It is not clear whether Fisk already knows Daredevil, the Netflix series, or if Marvel Studios are starting from zero in Born Again, but the return of D’Onofrio as the evil is incredibly exciting.
Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher
After it was confirmed that Cox and D’Onofrio will resume their roles in Marvel Television for Daredevil: Born Again speculations have begun on what other Netflix actors will join them, if any. Jon Bernthal, who played Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, in the second season of Daredevil and his spin-off series, The Punisher, confirmed that he will resume the role in March 2023. Bernthal Punisher has become quickly a fan favorite, thanks to magnetic Bernthal’s interpretation in the role of the brutal anti-hero. Because it has not yet been confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will be forbidden to minors, there is fear that the character may be too sweetened, but the ban on minors of Echo suggests that the Daredevil show may follow the same route, partly due to the presence of the Punisher.
Ayelet Zurer in the role of Vanessa Fisk
Ayelet Zurer initially played Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil, her love interest and then Wilson Fisk’s wife. In March 2023 it was revealed that Sandrine Holt would take on the role of Daredevil: Born Again after the casting of December 2022, this was changed again in April 2024, with Zurer having resumed the role of Vanessa Fisk for the show MCU. This is particularly noteworthy since Holt’s casting was the first major makeover of a character from Marvel Television for a project of the Marvel Studios, suggesting initially that the Netflix series – as well as other spinoff shows as Agents of SHIELD – maybe they weren’t canonical for l ’MCU after all. Now that the responsible for streaming Marvel Studios Brad Winderbaum has confirmed that the shows Marvel of Netflix are canonical of the ’MCU, it makes more sense for Zurer to resume the character once again, even if Sandrine Holt looked promising for the role.
Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson
The first news on Daredevil: Born Again suggested that Foggy and Karen would not be present in the series, with many theorizing that this was due to an altered timeline following the change of universe, or because Karen and Foggy had died during the period not visible between the end of the third season of Daredevil and where Daredevil: Born Again resumes. However, some recent photos have revealed both Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll on set, confirming that they will reappear in some way.

As for Foggy Nelson interpreted by Elden Henson, also Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll, was believed absent by Daredevil: Born Again, up when the photos from the set showed a sign “Nelson, Murdock & Page” and the subsequent revelation that both actors were on the set of the series. Page’s return, interpreted by Deborah Ann Woll, is particularly interesting, given the story of love by Matt Murdock with the character. If she were alive in the main timeline of the series, this would complicate notably the meeting of Daredevil with She-Hulk in the series hero soloist. That said, Woll’s return e Henson would be worth any complications, since both added nuances and depth to their roles during the original Daredevil series. However, the alleged return of another villain from Daredevil could make it a much more uncertain possibility that they are alive and well in Daredevil: Born Again.
Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye
In January 2024, Comicbook.com reported that Bullseye, played by Wilson Bethel will return to Daredevil: Born Again. It would be perfectly logical, given that the third season of Daredevil ended with the character he seemed to have ended its history of origin from bad to become officially Bullseye, after undergoing surgery experimental to the spine which, once completed, has left Poindexter’s eyes marked by the iconic reason for Bullseye. Photos from the Daredevil set: Rebirth confirmed that it is so, with the new suit of Bullseye used on the show. Bring the character back to the series for the show Marvel definitely makes sense, in how much it ensures that the most exciting part of its history from bad, his real period like Bullseye, can be shown to the public. This also serves to balance the return of the heroes and villains from the original series, providing characters like Daredevil and Punisher another powerful enemy to face, too if Bullseye should only return for 3 episodes of the series.
Daredevil: Born Again was presented in an exclusive preview in the segment Marvel of the D23 Entertainment panel Showcase from 2024, and this seems to have shed some light on what to expect from Wilson Bethel’s character in ’MCU. The video shows Benjamin Poindexter behind bars but shows it in particular while walking, which is a key point of the plot to note since was paralyzed at the end of the original series of Daredevil. Therefore, although there are some obstacles to the full revelation of Bullseye as bad on the show, it seems likely Poindexter will run away to establish himself as a villain in Daredevil: Born Again.
Margarita Levieva in the cast in an Undisclosed Role
Better known for roles in Vanished, The Deuce, In From the Cold, and Revenge, Margarita Levieva was hired for Daredevil: Born Again in December 2022. Although its role is not been revealed again by Marvel Studios, it has been reported it will play an important role in the series, and it is assumed that could be the role of Matt Murdock’s love interest. This would mark a large deviation from the series Daredevil by Netflix, who anticipated the eventual relationship between Murdock and Karen Page interpreted by Elizabeth Olsen.
New Addition to the cast of Daredevil
The video of Daredevil: Born Again, revealed to the D23 Entertainment Showcase panel in 2024, showed an unexpected new character, presenting Muse to the public. In the comics of Marvel, Muse is a super-criminal whose powers allow him to escape control, ensuring that his “bloody art” can be carried out without the people noticing it. This representation seems to have been reported in Daredevil: Born Again, since the video of the D23 shows his murals before revealing the character himself, suggesting that a similar iteration of the character is expected.
Although the actor he plays Muse has not yet been confirmed – and will probably remain so, since the character is mainly represented with one white mask covering the whole face – whoever has been chosen for the role in Daredevil: Born Again is without a doubt a talented actor, since he will have to act behind the costume that covers the whole body and face of Muse. IS Interestingly, given the murderous machinations of the character, theories have arisen that Muse could bring together Daredevil and Kingpin as allies for a time since it would be in their best interest to stop the bad guy.
White Tiger
The appearance of White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again has been confirmed together with Muse in the D23 Entertainment Showcase panel of 2024, although the scene photos had already mentioned the presence of the character. White Tiger’s cloak had already been anticipated in 2015 with the first season of Jessica Jones, in which Angela del Toro, another character who has already had the title of comic book hero. However, Born Again reveals that Hector Ayala will be the first White Tiger on the screen, showing it while wearing the suit and claiming that people need a hero. Although the actor he will play White Tiger has not yet been officially confirmed, Forbes reported that Kamar de los Reyes played the role of Hector Ayala on the show, and other sources reported the same news. Unfortunately, Kamar de los Reyes died in 2023, making his interpretation of White Tiger his latest role.
Daredevil: Born Again Cast and Secondary Characters
Michael Gandolfini – Michael Gandolfini, who joined Levieva from The Deuce, was hired for a role not revealed in Daredevil: Born Again in December 2022. Gandolfini’s role in the next series Disney+ was not revealed but yes speculates that he could play Wilson Fisk’s son, too if he stated that his character is from Staten Island and not from Hell’s Kitchen, the typical setting of Daredevil‘s stories. Gandolfini was the first cast member to join the series after Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, so he will likely have an important role in Daredevil: Born Again.
Nikki M. James – After recent roles in Alert Spoiler is Severance of Apple TV+, Nikki M. James was hired in Daredevil: Born Again in January 2023. Although the exact nature of its role in the cinematographic universe Marvel has not been revealed, the more widespread theories suggest that he could interpret Kristen McDuffie, the assistant district attorney who suspects strongly that Matt Murdock is the devil of Hell’s Kitchen. This suspect eventually leads the two to start a relationship romantic, which could lend itself to the much more version charming of Daredevil view in She-Hulk.
Michael Gaston – Known especially for roles in Prison Break, Jericho is The Mentalist Michael Gaston joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again in March 2023. Gaston has previously played Gerald Sharpe, a member of the United States Department of Defense during the seventh season of Agents of SHIELD. However, since this plot took place in the past, it is unlikely that it will resume this role for Daredevil: Born Again. Nothing else is known about the role of Michael Gaston in the next series MCU.
Arty Froushan – Arty Froushan was hired for Daredevil: Born Again in March 2023 and although its role has not been revealed by the Marvel Studios, it has been reported that Froushan will play a Wilson Fisk partner named “Harry”. Marvel Studios has not confirmed the news, but the inclusion of the actor of Carnival Row in House of the Dragon in the Phase 5 series it’s a lot exciting.
Harris Yulin – The scene photos of Daredevil: Born Again suggested in April 2023 that the legend of Hollywood Harris Yulin had joined the cast of the next series MCU. Nothing is known of the potential role of Yulin in Born Again, but with credits like Scarface, Ghostbusters II, Clear and Present Danger, and Training Day to his credit, Yulin is a brilliant addition to the cast of Daredevil: Born Again.
Genneya Walton – In February 2024 it was announced that Genneya Walton, noted especially for his appearances on Candy Cane Lane, BlackAF and the television adaptation of School of Rock joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. The news according to which Walton’s character will be linked to journalism has led to speculation that his role will be linked to the journalist of Daredevil Ben Urich, allowing his story to continue in ’ the MCU, but nothing about it has been still confirmed.
