Emmy Awards 2023: All the Nominations, Succession, The Last of Us, and Ted Lasso Dominate

HBO dominated the Emmy Awards 2023 nominations with the network’s flagship shows, Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus nabbing 27, 23, and 24 nominations, respectively. A truly important result of The Last of Us is the first video game adaptation to achieve the prestige of Emmy nominations. Close behind is Ted Lasso, who takes home a remarkable total of 21 nominations, while the Netflix series Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story takes home 13 nominations in the categories dedicated to anthology series.  With the arrival of summer, it’s already Emmy time: the awards dedicated to the small screen unveiled their nominations today, and between pleasant or less pleasant surprises and more or less surprises, as usual, they summarized the best they have offered us in the last year the world of television serials. Succession gets 27 nominations, and The Last of Us follows closely with 24. The nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards, now in their 75th edition, have been announced. Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus are among the most nominated series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards 2023, the highest recognition for the best of American TV. The awards will be held on September 18th. For the final season of Succession nominations worthy the one for the best drama series and those to all its protagonists (from Brian Cox to Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, and Sarah Snook), to writing, directing, and almost all of his extraordinary cast, supporters (Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, J. Smith Cameron) and guests (Hiam Abbass, Cherry Jones and Harriet Walter) included.

The Last of Us earns 24 nominations, the main ones in the categories for best drama series and those for protagonists (Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey) and guests (Melanie Lynskey, Storm Reid, and Anna Torv). Keivonn Woodard, the interpreter of Sam, is notched in the history of the awards as the youngest actor ever nominated.

The White Lotus garners major nominations including Best Drama Series, Best Writing and Directing (Mike White), and nominations for its brilliant cast that includes Sabrina Impacciatore, Simona Tabasco, Jennifer Coolidge, Meghann Fahy, Aubrey Plaza, F. Murray Abraham, Theo James, Will Sharpe and Michael Imperioli. The fantasy series House of the Dragon is also among the titles contending for the title of best drama series.

Succession, which this year presented its final season, is the favorite in the category of best drama series, while Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, and Sarah Snook could take the statuette in the category of Best Actor and Actress in a Drama Series. In addition, Pedro Pascal received great criticism for his work as Joel in The Last of Us series, and many experts have commented that he will be the one who wins the Best Actor in a Drama Series category. Series like Barry, which also featured its final season, and Beef, along with Andor and Yellowjackets, also rank among the top titles. And, in the comedy category, Abbott Elementary, along with Ted Laso, and the new series Shrinking, where Harrison Ford and Jason Segel play therapists, are favorites.
