The Witcher Season 3: Will Release In Two Parts Here Are the Official Poster, Teaser and Images

Netflix has just announced the release date of The Witcher Season 3, the acclaimed fantasy series about the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill. The third season will consist of 8 episodes and will be released this summer in two parts in all countries where the service is active: volume 1 will debut on June 29 with the first 5 episodes, while Volume 2 will debut on July 27 with the last 3 episodes. The showrunner and executive producer is Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, directed by Stephen Surjik, Gandja Monteiro, Loni Peristere, and Bola Ogun, while the screenplay is by Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Tania Lotia, Haily Hall, Matthew D’ Ambrosio, Clare Higgins, Rae Benjamin and Troy Dangerfield.

The series was filmed in England, Italy, Wales, Croatia, Slovenia, and Morocco, and is produced by Tera Vale Ragan, Veselin Karadjov and Sasha Harris. Also, executive producers are Steve Gaub, Matt O’Toole, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Platige Films (Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko), Hivemind Content (Jason Brown and Sean Daniel).

The first poster of the awaited third season of The Witcher has appeared on social networks, the very popular Netflix fantasy series starring Henry Cavill who, in this official poster, we see returning to the role of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia, together with the sorceress Yennefer by Anya Chalotra and to Freya Allen’s Princess Ciri. On March 31, 2022, the third season of The Witcher officially went into production. Among the locations touched by the production of the Netflix series, we also find the Fusine Lakes, in Friuli, the castle of Predjama in Slovenia, Croatia, Surrey, Wales, Morocco, and the Sahara Desert. After 5 months, 23 weeks, and approximately 120 working days, filming for the awaited third season has concluded.

The Witcher Season 3: Official Synopsis

The synopsis for season 3 reveals that “While monarchs, wizards and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt leads Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it. In charge of Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to learn more about Ciri’s untapped powers; instead, they find they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. They have to fight back, put everything on the line or risk being lost forever“.

The Witcher Season 3 Release Date

The series is based on the fantasy novels of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The showrunner and executive producer are Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The official release date of season 3 is finally out now. The third season will have two parts Season 3 Vol. 1 will be released on 29th June 2023 and Season 3 Vol. 3 will be released on 27th July 2023. Among the new additions to the cast for the upcoming season are Robbie Amell (Upload, Code 8, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City), Meng’er Zhang (Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings), Hugh Skinner (Mamma Mia Here We Go Again! Falling For Figaro, Fleabag) and Christelle Elwin  (Half Bad,  Bloods). Here you can find out in detail which new characters will play!
