You Season 4 Part 1: Does Joe Die? Ending Explanation! What We Know!

You Season 4 Part 1 is now available on Netflix. Bringing the continuation of the streaming giant’s hit series, the new year opens full of news and with a new killer terrorizing the characters. First, the plot of the fourth year of the series follows the move of Joe (Penn Badgley), who now goes by the name of Jonathan Moore, from Paris to London. There, the man begins to live a new life, meet new people and start over as a professor at a London university. 

However, Joe, or Jonathan, goes through nightmares when a mysterious killer begins to terrorize the city, his new friends and his own life. Anonymously, the mysterious character finds out about Joe’s past. As a way of threatening him, however, the killer tries to frame Joe for the deaths. Deciding to put an end to it all, Joe puts his stalker clothes back on and tries to find out who is behind the deaths and the disturbing messages. However, a pivotal moment in the series arrives and viewers are shocked by Joe’s likely death in You. After all, does Joe die in the series? 

You Season 4 Part 1: Joe Dies in Season 4? 

There are numerous attempts to end Joe’s life in the fourth season of You. In all, there were three times that the characters explicitly tried to kill the protagonist of the plot. The first occurred when Joe met Marienne (Tati Gabrielle). After so much looking for her, Joe finally finds her, but the woman threatens him with a knife. Quickly, Joe gets the situation under control and disarms the woman. On the first attempt, however, the man is unharmed. On the other hand, the second time happened when Vic finds Joe in the crypt watching Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) mourn Malcolm (Stephen Hagan). The man pulls a gun on Joe, who manages to jump out. The two end up starting a fight right there on the floor. A bullet ends up being fired from the gun, during the scuffle, but it does not injure Joe. This one, however, ends up getting the better of him and kills Vic. 

The third time, however, happens in the last episode of the 1st part of the 4th season. At first, Rhys (Ed Speleers) locks Joe and Roald (Ben Wiggins) in the basement of Phoebe’s (Tilly Keeper) country house and sets it on fire. However, Joe breaks the chains on his wrists and frees Roald. Then, Kate finds Joe and Roald in the basement and helps them. Finally, Joe does not die from the You Season 4 Part 1. However, the second part, which arrives on March 9th, may finally bring about the character’s death.
