But the most important mystery of the season is related to the skull in the jar that George stole and that appears in the first episode of the series Netflix series by accident, Lucy discovers that inside that jar there is a type 3 ghost, and when she hears her voice, she understands that she has the same power as Marissa Fitte.

The skull takes Lucy to the Bickerstaff house and the team accepts an invitation to Fitties’s ball, but their real goal is to steal a book from the agency’s library. Later, while unlocking the mysteries of the bone glass, Lockwood and Lucy discover that George’s life is in danger, as Joplin wants to force him to look in the mirror and tell him everything he perceives. Joplin wants to reunite with the spirit of her former teacher, Bickerstaff, and to do so, she uses George. Quill Kipps tries to help Anthony’s friend, but a red ghost attacks him and it is up to George to save him, thus it is revealed that Quill is losing his ability to see ghosts. Lucy volunteers to go down to the mausoleum to rescue George. Meanwhile, Lockwood suggests joining forces with Quill’s agency to confront Winkman, who is also looking in the mirror.

Lockwood & Co.: The Story Plot

In a reality where ghosts, called visitors, populate the streets and houses of London, many young people supervised by adults are busy fighting them. Many children and teenagers have developed powers of perception of ghosts, such as being able to identify and defeat them more easily. Among these, Lucy Carlyle, just 13 years old, is forced by her mother to work for a local ghost-busting agency; after years of training and friendship with her partner Norrie, a sad incident in a haunted house convinces Lucy to leave her home for a new life in London. Here she is welcomed into Lockwood & Co., a small ghost-busting agency run by just two guys, Anthony Lockwood and George Karim, with no adult supervisors. The three will have many thrilling adventures together in which they will assert their skill before Inspector Barnes, and in which Lucy will learn more about her great power.

Beyond the thin veil that separates fantasy from reality, ghosts and spirits live in a different world. They used to be both men and women, but now they are just unwelcome wanderers whom nobody wants to live with. Surprising deaths, strange appearances, and disappearances are discussed in the media. Even though some people believe that Jack the Ripper has returned, the reality is far worse: There are ghosts, but none of them seem to be good. No one wanted to believe it at first, but the truth is real and as icy as the Grim Reaper’s hand: They are everywhere, ready to appear out of nowhere, haunting places, posing a threat to individuals, and continuing to wreak havoc on others’ lives. Sometimes out of retaliation and other times out of boredom, but more than once just for fun and without feeling sorry for anyone.

A young “Hearer,” Lucy Carlyle (Ruby Stokes), possesses psychic abilities that allow her to perceive ghosts. She has a difficult and conflicting childhood with her mother, who does not care for her in any way. The girl fled her home and made her way to London, knocking on the doors of various agencies until she was the one who opened them for Lockwood and Co., who decided to open their doors to her. Anthony Lockwood (Cameron Chapman), a boy who is slightly older than Lucy, and George Karim (Ali Hadji-Hesmati), a character who prefers not to give the newcomer much confidence because he sees her as just a distraction, run the agency. Lockwood and Co. aren’t as strong in the field as many other agencies, and it doesn’t have as many offices or extensive facilities. However, it does have one advantage that many others don’t: a spot for brunch.

In these circumstances, no one would work at Lockwood and Co. for more than three months, unless they were desperate or doing so to gain experience and grow professionally. Anthony and George, who are forced to share a room with a new roommate to make ends meet and avoid unwanted attention, have no idea why Lucy decided to embark on this new adventure. This is no easy task, especially given that they are looking for something that will also interest a lot of other agencies. Something extremely significant, potent, and dangerous.

Lockwood & Co Season 1 Ending Explained: Reminiscing a little

As soon as it starts, the eighth and final episode continues the narrative of the seventh episode, which brought about the clash between Anthony and Quill KippsClosely, Anthony‘s attitude did not cause deaths, including Lucy and Kipps himself. Luckily, Lucy knows Anthony’s ways and managed to escape this likely tragic ending. Alive, Anthony and Lucy’s mission becomes to protect the bone glass mirror. The fear is that the artifact will reach evil figures. The issue is that this artifact is the evil force itself, once they discover through Mary Dulac‘s book that the mirror is a portal. In the book, the mirror is represented by a swirl, the same one that George has been scribbling around the house. From there, it is discovered that George is hypnotized. He will take the mirror to Joplin, who is very curious to study the object.

The Consequences of George’s Attitude

The problem is that, by taking this action, George exposes Joplin to danger. Inconsequential, Joplin sees in the mirror a way to dominate the world, because he is facing a great discovery that will be responsible for defining the paths of several people around him. As always in oblivion, Joplin also sees in the mirror a way of becoming a protagonist in people’s lives. At the same time, George is used as a test subject for Joplin’s experiments with the mirror. Faced with Joplin’s suspicious movements, Kipps followed him to the cemetery. When running into Kipps, Joplin has a change of heart. Kidnapped at knifepoint, Kipps is about to suffer from Joplin’s first reckless actions. Luckily, George seems to wake up from his deep sleep and repairs the situation around him, surrendering Joplin and saving Kipps’ life.

George also realizes that, given the context he is in, he would probably be the victim who would be sitting where Kipps was. However, Kipps is not useful for what Joplin wants, as he is losing his intelligence. It would not make sense to use it as an experiment, as the portal does not attract these types of people. Ultimately, George ends up taking Kipps’ place. Lucy will appear to try to save George and offers to stand in front of the mirror. However, Lucy preserves herself from the artifact’s exposure by placing a skull in its place. Surprisingly, the skull indicates that bone glass is not something eternal, different from what everyone thought.

Next, Lucy faints from the wear and tear caused by interacting with the mirror. George rushes to help her, while Joplin remains in disbelief about what the skull said. Then, Joplin herself goes in front of the mirror, and when she does, the glass completely shatters and releases several spirits. The spirits that come out of the mirror are benign and appear as if they are grateful to have been released. However, a large evil spirit also ends up leaving, which ends up lodging in the bodies of Lucy and George. Anthony arrives at the exact moment of possession.

Anthony Becomes Essential

Before arriving for Lucy and George’s meeting, Anthony found the golden blade and was shot. The moment refers to the prediction that his death would be insignificant as well as that of his parents. It is not very clear, but it was probably the golden blade that orphaned him. Anthony arrives in time to save them and, with the artifact in hand, in addition to saving his own life, he also saves the lives of all his friends, including Kipps. So, the enmity between Kipps and Anthony seems to have called a truce. Anthony’s wound will be taken care of by everyone who starts to have great admiration for him. Recovered, both Anthony and all of Lockwood & Co are ready to resume their normal activities. What stops Anthony from moving forward are some outstanding secrets. That’s how he decides to call Lucy and George to show what’s behind the door, leaving a big hook for the second season.

Does Lucy Rescue George?

While Lucy deals with Pamela, who now wants to force her to look in the mirror, Anthony confronts the Golden Blade, a mercenary who is connected to the death of Lockwood’s parents, and loses. However, he shows up just in time to save his friends from Bickerstaff’s spirit. Shortly before, Lucy makes the Skull look at the mirror and breaks it, which frees the souls of the seven people whose bones were used to make it. Happily, everyone makes it home safely, Winkman is jailed, and Anthony is pressured by Barnes to reveal who shot him.

At the end of the first season of Lockwood & Co, Anthony reveals to his friends that Espada de Oro was the one who attacked him and that he mentioned his parents. Also, he shows her what’s behind the door above. What hides in that place? Will it be shown in season 2? Who is Golden Blade? The mercenary meets Penelope Fittes in a car and informs her that DEPRAC has the bone crystal and that she was unable to kill Lockwood. Whom do they work for and what do they want?
