Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Will Poulter in New Image as Adam Warlock
Empire has revealed an image of Will Poulter as Adam Warlock for the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The interpreter will make his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the final chapter of the trilogy on the characters brought to the big screen by James Gunn.
The character of Adam Warlock was described by director James Gunn as follows:
He is not a good boy, in the film we will see his young form, unable to understand life. He is a child. People were telling me to cast Tom Cruise in the role, but I wanted someone who was younger and had both dramatic and comedic chops. And all of this will not only serve for my film but in general for the use of Warlock in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Adam Warlock First Look
The character first appeared in comics in Fantastic Four issue #66, (released September 1967), and is identified as “Him” in the following issue. The Warlock name will only appear in 1972’s Marvel Premier #1.
Karen Gillan described this third chapter of the saga as something bittersweet:
Working on volume 3 of Guardians of the Galaxy has been a fantastic experience. I loved working on the film, it was so good. I really enjoyed seeing how far the character went and collaborating with James Gunn again, it was like seeing the family reunited. This time we have taken it to a new level. And getting to the final chapter was a bittersweet feeling.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is written and directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff, with Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket in the original version, as well as Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter and Maria Bakalova. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Nikolas Korda, Simon Hatt and Sara Smith serving as executive producers.
