Avatar: The Way of Water: Film Running Duration Revealed Crosses 3 Hours Runtime

Avatar: The Way of Water, is getting closer to reaching the screen. The long-awaited sequel to the hit 2009 film directed by James Cameron, will have a second part, which once again presents the original protagonists who plunge into an unexpected adventure.

The running time of the tape that hits theatres on December 16 is 190 minutes, that is, 3 hours and 10 minutes, so there will be plenty of room to explore the story of Jake Sully and Neytiri in Pandora. Fortunately, for fans, this sequel is not the only one underway, as it was confirmed that Avatar: The Way of Water is just the beginning of a succession of instalments that will culminate in 2028 with Avatar 5.

The sequel began filming in 2017, however, due to the complexity of the film involving motion capture and live-action scenes, it was not until September 2020 that filming finished and the retouching stage began.

What Is The Plot of Avatar: The Way of Water?

In the new instalment, fans will be able to see how the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) continued years after the events of the end of the first film, where the Marine veteran decides to permanently transfer to Pandora.

The film will focus on the Sully family and the various obstacles they face. The official synopsis for the film reads: “Jake Sully and Neytiri have started a family and are doing their best to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans.”
