30 Coins Season 2: Trailer and Release Date Of Álex De La Iglesia’s Series On HBO Max | 30 Monedas 2
30 Coins Season 2 (30 Monedas 2) has released the final trailer for its second season, which will premiere on October 23 on HBO Max. With a cast headed by Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Megan Montaner, and Eduard Fernández, this time they will have to face a new enemy so perverse that even the devil himself fears him. In this continuation, the vast majority of Pedraza’s inhabitants are plunged into madness. Almost the entire town is confined to a psychiatric hospital, where Elena lies in one of the dark rooms in a coma. Paco tries to take care of her, but her remorse eats away at him. Our protagonists will have to face a wicked new enemy among all the darkness that surrounds them. The horror grows around him, and many unknowns are in the air. Has Father Vergara died with his archenemy, Cardinal Santoro? Where are the tortured souls?
In this second installment, most of the town of Pedraza is crazy, locked in a psychiatric hospital. Elena lies in a coma, in a dark hospital bed. Paco, devastated by her remorse, tries to take care of her, but it is not easy. As the horror grows around them, the group of heroes must face a new enemy. Someone so perverse that even the devil himself fears him… But what about Father Vergara? Has he died, along with his archenemy, Cardinal Santoro? Where are the tortured souls hiding? The 8 new episodes of the horror series will once again confront the forces of evil that infiltrated the Vatican against a humble (but guerrilla) rural priest from emptied Spain, supported by some locals who find themselves involved in a fight of more than two thousand years old. Directed and co-written by acclaimed horror master Álex de la Iglesia, 30 Coins takes viewers to a world where nothing is the same. It seems that no one can be trusted. De la Iglesia co-writes the series with his regular collaborator Jorge Guerricaechevarria.
The second season will be made up of 8 episodes that will arrive just in time for the Halloween season, ideal for the protagonists’ new confrontation with the forces of evil infiltrated in the Vatican. This new installment will pass through the Sitges Festival before reaching us in streaming. Giamatti and Nimiri are the two big additions of the second season. For his part, Giamatti will play Christian Barbrow, the new and mysterious enemy that the devil fears. Meanwhile, the residents of the remote town in Spain will continue to face the inexplicable demonic events that have destroyed the sanity of almost all of its inhabitants.
30 Coins Season 2 (30 Monedas 2): Synopsis
The official synopsis of the second season of 30 Coins reads as follows: “The majority of the residents of Pedraza, a remote town in Spain plagued by inexplicable and demonic events, have lost their minds and are confined to a psychiatric hospital. Elena lies in a coma in a hospital bed in Madrid; Paco, devastated by her remorse, tries to take care of her. As the horror intensifies around them, our group of heroes must face a mysterious new enemy, someone so evil that even the devil fears him.
30 Coins Season 2: Cast
Paul Giamatti and Najwa Nimri are the two big additions to the cast of the second season of 30 Coins, Álex de la Iglesia’s series for HBO Max. Giamatti will play Christian Barbrow, the “mysterious new enemy” of the official synopsis who is “so wicked that even the devil fears him“. Nominated for an Oscar and winner of two Golden Globes, the incorporation of an international actor of his talent to the series is cause for celebration. The role of Najwa Nimri has yet to be confirmed, but the actress herself confessed to us a few months ago that “[Álex de la Iglesia] has fit me into a place in the series… I love it. Let’s see if I measure up.” “But, come on, I love it. I’m very happy. “Najwa Nimri joins the team with a character she has described as “a wonderful asshole,” although she has clarified “that she’s not an asshole, she is a little bit of an asshole”, whatever that means.
Those who will return after the first season will be Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández), the mayor of Pedraza Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and the local veterinarian Elena (Megan Montaner), as well as the characters of Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, Cósimo Fusco, Manolo Solo, Nuria González, Javier Bódalo and Manuel Tallafé.
30 Coins Season 2: Trailer and Poster
HBO has finally unveiled the first official trailer for the second season of 30 Coins, and it looked spectacular like this:
In addition, we can now enjoy the final trailer for this second season (at the beginning of this news), as well as the official poster.
Where to Watch 30 Coins
As there is still a month left until the premiere of the second season, we remind you that you can watch the series on HBO Max. “Judas betrayed Jesus Christ for 30 silver coins. 2,000 years later, one of them appears in a remote town in Spain, unleashing a series of supernatural forces that threaten to uncover the secrets of the Vatican and annihilate the human race. In the middle of everything will be Father Vergara, an exorcist, boxer, and ex-convict exiled in a parish in the small town where the coin appears. “Vergara wants to forget and be forgotten, but his enemies will find him very soon…” says the synopsis of the first season.
30 Coins Season 2: The History
When we spoke with Álex de la Iglesia and Jorge Guerricaechevarría in the last edition of the Sitges Festival, the director recognized that the original idea from the beginning was to make a trilogy. Specifically, he commented that “when we started writing we already had that kind of altarpiece in our heads, that kind of brutal triptych, and we are at it”. Knowing this and considering how the first season was shelved, with Eduard Fernández’s father Vergara and Manolo Solo’s perfidious Santoro very dead after falling into the void – and this is seen on camera, so there is no doubt that their fate—, it is likely that the second part of ’30 coins’ will focus on the bulk of survivors, except last minute resurrections or visits to the past.
After eight episodes in which Macarena Gómez’s Merche opposed to become the great villain of the function, the character ended up fleeing Pedraza along with the disturbing Lagrange, taking with her one of the coins on which the series revolves; so it would not be unreasonable for this duo to face Miguel Angel Silvestre’s Paco and Megan Montaner’s Elena, who would occupy the light side of the scale. More difficult to prophesy is the role that Angelo will have, the character played by Cosmio Fusco, who went for a walk in New York after changing his appearance and adopting the form of an Asian man. The international dyes that have marked the plot so far, it seems that they will be maintained, yes.
