007 Road to a Million: A week after Amazon’s acquisition of MGM was officially finalized, Amazon Studios began working on potential projects focusing on MGM’s extensive library of movies and TV shows. And today comes the news from Variety that one of the first projects currently in development 007 Road to a Million is a series of competitive races, centered on the James Bond franchise.
Prime Video has officially placed an order for the 007 Road to a Million series, in which contestants will compete for the $1.3 million cash prize. This is the first time the longtime spy franchise has ventured into television.
007 Road To A Million: What Will The Tv Series Be About?
007’s Road to a Million comes from franchise owners Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who will executive produce the eight-episode series through their EON Productions brand. The series is a British and MGM Television 72 Films production.
007 Road to a Million which will focus on James Bond themed competitions will be filmed in several historical locations that were featured in previous Bond films. The two-member team will have to pass a “test of intelligence and stamina”, which includes “overcoming physical obstacles and correctly answering hidden questions in different locations around the world before they can move on to the next challenge.”
007 Road to a Million unscripted will be produced by David Glover for 72 Films alongside Barry Poznick and Mark Burnett for MGM. Dom Bird will supervise the project on behalf of the firm. Production is expected to begin later this year, with casting still ongoing.
